Shkede Executions, 15.12.1941

A Latvian policeman guards a group of women on the Shkede dunes, awaiting execution. SD Oberscharführer Sobeck who took these pictures photographed only Latvian police, thoughtfully avoiding the Germans who were in charge of the operation and provided one of the 3 firing squads. But there happens to be a German military car in the upper right background.
