Rich Jews "got it from both sides". Banker Haim Epstein had been arrested by the Soviets in January 1941 and died in the Gulag in June 1942. Now it was his family's turn: Emma (47) left, Mia (18) center, and Max (15) right. Young women had to strip naked in the December cold, men and older women were allowed to keep their underwear on.
